Through our Purple Star Program, Galion City Schools will be participating in Ohio Military Family Spirit Week, April 13–17.
Our great state of Ohio is home to more than 700 Purple Star schools, all working to support and recognize the children of our nation’s brave service members — our military kids.
We invite our students, staff, families, and community to join the virtual celebration by showing your support and sharing your Purple Star spirit on social media during the week.

In honor of the Month of the Military Child, many amazing local businesses have teamed up with Galion City Schools to help “Paint the Town Purple” and show support for the children of our military families.
Be on the lookout for purple decorations, windows, signs, and displays throughout town as businesses show their appreciation for the strength and sacrifice of military kids.
And mark your calendar for Purple Up Day on April 22 — we invite everyone in our community to wear purple and join us in celebrating military children!

Let's all Light It Up Blue on Tuesday, March 31st as we recognize World Autism Day and celebrate the strengths, talents, and uniqueness of individuals with autism.

This special evening will take place alongside our Spring Band Concert, featuring performances from students in grades 5–12 and our Jazz Band. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy wonderful music while supporting our band program.
Dinner tickets are pre-sale only and must be purchased by April 22 to guarantee a meal. Order forms will be sent home with band students no later than this Friday, but tickets can also be purchased by scanning the QR code on the attached flyer.

Avita Health System Home Health & Hospice is offering a free “Healing Hearts Camp” for children ages 5–12 who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
This special camp provides a caring and supportive space where children can express their feelings, learn healthy ways to cope with grief, and connect with other kids who understand what they are going through.
🍎 Lunch will be provided, and there is no cost for families to attend.

Stop by Galion High School for our Wellness Fair tomorrow, Thursday, March 19th, from 4:00–7:00 PM.
There will be plenty of fun activities and helpful resources for families, and our school nurses will also be on-site to assist with scheduling immunization appointments for the 2026–27 school year.
This is a district-wide event, open to all K–12 students and their families—we hope to see you there!
