On Field Day, we also got to see Mrs. Heimann keep her promise. If students read 30,000 pages during Right to Read Week, she would kiss a frog. WELL, students actually read 36,180 pages!! Thank you to Cooper for bringing in this bullfrog (who didn't turn into a prince) for the big moment 🐸
We also presented Victoria as well as AJ 🐶 from the Crawford County Humane Society with a check for $508.07 from our fundraiser. They were so appreciative and it was such an honor to be one of AJ's last stop before he retires!

Fun day, Field day! ☀️ We kicked off our summer with an incredible day of play, laughter, and memories.
5th-graders were also treated to a special send-off with their own colorful tunnel; held between the Primary and Intermediate as they are officially leaving our side of campus! 🌈

Attention GIS Families,
We apologize for the delay in receiving the yearbooks for the 23-24 school year. We are working with Lifetouch to get them in as soon as possible. Once they are received, we will contact the families who purchased a yearbook. We will also have some available for purchase if you missed out. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience.
Mrs. Price, Yearbook Advisor

We had our first annual Talent Showcase at GIS during lunches recently! We were treated to dancing, instruments, ventriloquism, stand-up comedy, cheers, and even owl sounds 👏🏻 who knew we had SO many awesome talents! Can't wait to do this next year too!

Our cross-categorical class visited Alpaca Meadows and got to hang out with the some cool animals for the day 🦙

5th-Grade Families: During our Field Day, we would like to celebrate the promotion of our 5th-graders to their next journey at the middle school. We have a special surprise for them - so please have our 5th-graders dress in older (and/or white) clothes as they may get a bit colorful at Thursday's Field Day 🥳

We are hiring for next school year! Check the Employment page on our website for all postings and information.
Send letters of interest, resume and applications to human.resources@galionschools.org

Our 4th-graders had their end-of-year field trip yesterday at COSI 🤩
Check out ALL the fun they had - and THANK YOU to all the chaperones who helped make it happen (chaperones: feel free to add pictures if you took any in the comments!)

4th-grade spent the morning hanging (and climbing, sliding, etc) out at Heise Park this morning 🛝

Tomorrow is the last chance to buy a refreshing cup of lemonade at recess. We will be also selling cups of ice. It's warming up, let us cool you down! 🍋

Help us say CONGRATULATIONS to Rayanna and Aiden for being awarded SST7's Outstanding Student Achievement award 🎖️
This is a teacher-nominated award for students who have shown exceptional growth throughout the year.
We are so proud of you two!! 👏🏻

Our 3rd-graders headed to Buckeye Imagination Museum today as their year-end field trip! What a great way to play hard after working hard all year 🥳

Yesterday, our students had FUTURE FRIDAY 👏🏻 On this day, 3rd and 4th-graders rotated to meet all of their next year teachers - and while this was happening, 5th-graders met with our GMS counselor to work on scheduling, year reflections, and leaving some words of wisdom for our incoming 3rd-graders.
We can't wait to see how bright these futures are 😎

5th-graders spent some time in the great outdoors at Lowe-Volk Nature Center learning ALL the wildlife things! 🍃🐢🐍

As we wrap up National Teacher/Staff Appreciation week, we want to thank all those who work behind the scenes to ensure our Tigers have what they need to succeed at Galion City Schools. No matter what your role is here in Galion, you are appreciated for ALL you do. You make a difference, one child at a time!

Galion City School District is seeking applicants to fill a part-time operations secretarial position. Interested candidates should email letter of interest to humanresouces@galionschools.org. Full job description and application is located at https://bit.ly/3uOHXVX

The administration of Galion City Schools would like to recognize and show our appreciation for these amazing educators. "Each adult in our district influences our students, so regardless of title, we are all teachers in one way or another. As a team, we bring our A-game and support our kids. It's tough work, draining work, but absolutely fulfilling. Thank you for changing the world, over and over again, one student at a time!" Dr. Jeff Hartmann

Today, we went GRAY to support our some of our own students and all others who have been diagnosed with brain tumors. We are glad to have our survivors with us 🩶

Is it to scale? Our Makerspace students can make sure it is! These students worked on scale drawings with Mr. Lehman ✍️

Right to Read Week is here! 🏰 To celebrate, we will be holding a spirit week to encourage a love for reading (and in this case, our theme, Fairytales and Fables 🦄).
