The yellow school bus is among the most recognized icons of American schools and society. Research demonstrates that the yellow school bus is the safest mode of transportation for some 25 million American school children each day. School bus drivers are provided rigorous training, preparation and testing to ensure the safety of our children. The women and men who manage and operate local school transportation systems are dedicated to the safety of all children. They also ensure efficiency and accountability in the delivery of each Galion student. Those that are involved with Galion Transportation range from building secretaries, bus drivers, bus aides, and bus maintenance. Galion City Schools recognizes the vital role that the yellow school bus plays in our education enterprise and in the life of our district. Galion City Schools declares the month of February 2024 to be LOVE THE BUS MONTH!!!

Principal Dick and Principal Sherer ran the building on Friday!
These two spent 100 of their hard earned tickets to help with the Tiger Ticket store, keep the halls clear of anyone wandering, and even snuck in some extra gym time ❤️
(I see administration being in the family business for the Dicks, too 😉)

Happy 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th day of school 🤍

Another month down, but another month up with lots to look forward to! Attached is not only our February Newsletter, but also our Academic Honors and Attendance list from the 2nd Quarter 👀

Everyone, there is a major gas leak on Portland Way. It is not a safety concern, but Portland Way will be closed from Harding Way to Brandt Road for the next several hours. You can use Hesby Drive or out Newberry Drive behind the Primary School. Thanks!

Next week, Mon. Jan. 29 - Fri. Feb. 2, we will be having a HOT CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER 🤎
Mrs. Patterson and some helpers will be selling hot chocolate each morning (starting at 7:40) before school begins in the Fishbowl - stopping when we run out for the morning OR when the tardy bell rings, whichever comes first!
Each cup will be $1. All money raised will go right back into our PBIS Initiatives, such as our Tiger Ticket Store items!

Good Morning once again. We will be closed today, due to the icy conditions, If you go out please be careful and have a great day! See you tomorrow!

Good morning Tigers,
Due to the roads are pretty icy right now so we will be on a 2hr delay. We will continue to monitor the conditions and update you if necessary. Be safe.

Our 3rd-graders have been hard at work in our Makerspace - straw construction, sun catchers, and microscopes were their recent endeavors ☀️🔬

Our 3rd-grade student, Avery Daniels, received the Empathetic award for her incredible kindness 💙🐾🧡 Read her award statement from her teachers, Miss Keller and Miss Seng! ⬇️
To be empathetic is to have the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Avery Daniels is the perfect example of empathy. Avery is kind, caring, and loving to not only her classmates but her teachers. Avery is the first person to jump into a situation when a student is feeling upset or sad. She offers distractions or offers to be their friend. Avery wears her heart on her sleeve and cares deeply about others and their feelings. Putting yourself in other people's shoes isn’t something that is easy but for Avery, it comes naturally. She is a great example of what it means to be empathetic.
